About the role
Call for Expressions of Interest – WHIN Board of Governance
Women’s Health In the North (WHIN) is currently inviting Expressions of Interest from members who are passionate about advancing gender equity and improving the health and wellbeing of women and gender diverse people in Melbourne’s north to join its Board of Governance.
We are particularly seeking members with governance and/or finance expertise to support the effective leadership and strategic direction of the organisation.
The Board’s roles include:
- Setting WHIN’s strategic objectives and monitoring performance against key indicators
- Providing strong governance and financial oversight, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and fiduciary obligations
- Developing and overseeing effective risk management frameworks
- Monitoring and supporting the long-term sustainability and strategic development of the organisation
- Appointing, supporting and managing the performance of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
- Actively contributing to the Board’s work through subcommittees, working groups, and strategic projects

- Are interested in contributing time, expertise, and strategic insight to an active, collaborative Board

Time Commitment
The Board currently meets five times per year, with additional involvement through subcommittees (currently at least five meetings per year). Additional time may be required for planning and working groups.
